This first blogpost has been a long time coming.. a LONG TIME. I've been wanting to start this blog since mid last year *yikes*. Starting a blog isnt easy. I've read numerous blogs on fashion, business, life, property etc and one thing stands true..it needs a lot of passion, dedication and courage. Its like sharing a part of yourself, putting yourself out there, subject to criticism, praise or anything in between. So I took some time and got some ideas, took some pretty cool pictures which were the embodiment of the vision I had for the blog, did my homework on how to start a blog, and read some cool blogs out there, just to get a feel of the blogging world..and in the end this desire I had to blog just wouldnt budge. So six months later here I am.
My aim with this blog is to express my thoughts about anything and everything, but with a bias to business, investments, enterpreneurship and the corporate world, to have interviews with leaders, CEOs and executives in the business world, in the spirit of growth and mentorship, meet and speak with young enterpreneurs; to eventually use it as a tool to inspire the youth but in a FUN, COOL and REFRESHING way!
Thats a fire I've had in me for a while. Being a new year, I dont have resolutions (because lets face it, do they really work? for some they do, and for some like me not so much. I chose to take a different approach) So that approach came to me from a post on the Forbes website. The post is titled "The First 7 Weeks Of 2014 Could Change Your Life - The Choice Is Yours" and the writer basically gives a guide on how you could practically work on one virtue in your life per week for a seven week duration. And I thought that this makes perfect sense, because change starts from within; and it really is a step-by-step journey. So I recently began and I'm currently in the foray of week two, and this week's virtue is courage. A little excerpt from the article reads "Week 2: Courage: Write seven things that cause you fear or stress. Work each day to remove the illusion of fear from at least one item on the list" So writing my first blogpost fits rightfully so into this week's challenge.
I am hoping to learn alot, share my sentiments, listen to all manner of thoughts, opinions and ideas, and grow. I have a dream to see the youth in Kenya grow and reach their full potential. So I guess this is my small contribution towards that dream. So join me, if you will, in this journey of growth and change.
Chasing perfection.
